Programs - Outpatient Services

Results that matterDesigned to work hand-in-hand with clients who work, attend school or have other obligations, we offer two programs with varying levels of involvement. Both outpatient drug programs are designed to suit both male and female participants' needs.

As with any treatment, the goal of outpatient drug treatment at Bay Area Recovery Center is complete abstinence from drugs and alcohol — which requires identifying and solving the emotional and behavioral issues surrounding the substance abuse. To that end, the majority of outpatient treatment is devoted to group and individual substance abuse counseling that is intense and as frequent as necessary. During this therapy, the client learns the side effects of drug and alcohol addiction, including its impact on friends and loved ones.

Our outpatient treatment program in Houston is comprehensive. An entire team works as the client’s advocate. The team typically includes a combination of doctors, psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, nurses and other mental health workers. The team devises a tailored program for each client that consists of individual and group drug counseling, plus other activities that allow for mental, physical, spiritual and psychological healing and growth. The participation of family and friends is welcomed and encouraged.

Intensive Outpatient Program

Each week, intensive outpatient clients spend twelve hours in interactive group counseling for chemical dependency and have at least one hour in an individual counseling session.

Supportive Outpatient Program

Each week, outpatient clients spend three hours in interactive group counseling and have individual counseling monthly.
Our outpatient alcohol and drug counseling in Houston offers a caring, comfortable and non-restrictive environment in which to interact with individuals. The outpatient programs are designed to address the needs of the client while they remain living at home. We provide a high level of support, interactive therapy and a great deal of education.

Ray's Story

"Life had been golden for me. I had a loving family, great education and talents that took me to the top of everywhere I went. Maybe it was that mistaken sense of being golden that led me to believe that recreational drug use would work for me. For many years, using and drinking was just an occasional retreat from the monotony of the day. But that all changed. I became less effective in every aspect of my existence. As a mental health professional, no one around me would have guessed that my drug use was getting out of control."
