Every detox program is designed based upon the clients drug of choice, frequency, dosage, mental health, physical health and any other factors that may apply to their treatment.

Every client begins their detox with a thorough physical and mental evaluation by our licensed medical staff, ensuring safety and effective medical treatment.

What To Expect When Detox Begins

After the evaluation phase is complete, the MD on staff will sign off on a plan, which will be implemented immediately to begin the detox.

During the detox process, our medical staff will monitor contentiously to ensure safety and alleviate as many withdrawal symptoms  as possible. Unfortunately,  it’s not possible to eliminate symptoms entirely, but we do strive to minimize the most severe effects of the detox.

You will not be alone. Our staff is here to support you during the entire process. We provide an environment that is supportive with an inviting community, with facilities in a non-institutionalized setting, offering comfort as you begin the substance abuse treatment process.

  • Confidential and supportive care
  • Personalized detox medications
  • Comfortable, non-institutionalized setting
  • 24/7 monitoring to ensure safety

Withdrawal Symptoms During Detox

We will watch out for and help alleviate the following withdrawal symptoms from start to finish. Keep in mind that every drug will have a different variety, type and strength of symptom, but these are generally the most common symptoms we see:

  • Headaches/Migraines
  • Stomach Pains
  • Nausea
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • General Muscle Pain
  • Shaking
  • Brain Fog
  • Cravings

How Long Does Detox Last?

This is not an easy question, because every substance has a different half life and many other variables. For example, the older you are, the harder it is for your body to expel the substance. We also have to take into consideration how much and how long the substance was used. Here are a few factors that dictate how long a detox will take:

  • Dosage and quantity of the drug or alcohol being used
  • The substances half life
  • How long the substance was used (days or years?)
  • How was the substance used? Was it smoked or injected or ingested via pill form?
  • Age of the patient. The older you are, the harder it is for the body to expel the substance.
  • Health of the patient.
  • How many different substances were abused?

This Recovery Center is by far the best Recovery place I have ever been, they you about the illness of alcoholism and the solution of the Program of Alcoholics Anonymous in the basic text of Alcoholics Anonymous. As long as your willing, open minded, and honest. You can get what they have of a spiritual awakening/experience. Everyone that works there has been through the house and knows the struggles you are going through and you will be able to relate with you. There is no judgement.

This place is probably the most important place I've ever had the fortune to visit. When I showed up here a year ago, I was bitter, selfish and a shadow of who I thought I was. If you or a loved one needs or wants to make a change, I can't recommend it more. The system they have here and the groups can genuinely help, even if you aren't fully willing, the messages will stick and make a new start possible.

I checked in Bay Area Recovery in May 2023, I went into House 3 for inpatient help with alcohol and drug addiction. What I found at Bay Area is a warm and loving group of people that really care about the clients. It's a family I never knew I had. These people rolled out the red carpet for me and made me feel at home. They showed me how to get sober with the 12-steps of AA and gave me the necessary tools to stay sober, taught me a new way of life. I am eternally grateful to Bay Area Recovery and the staff.
If anyone needs help this is the place to be. Everyone at Bay Area has been through this program and completely understands.
Thanks for everything.
