Bay Area Recovery Response to COVID-19

Fighting coronavirus

Dear BARC Community:

Though times surrounding COVID-19 are changing rapidly every day, our services are here. Our services are evolving with consideration to CDC, HHS, State, and local government guidance to keep our clients and staff as safe as possible while maintaining all rules and regulations.

Our Outpatient Services remain fully functional, though we have switched to Telehealth until further notice to do our part to slow the possibility of community spread of COVID-19 among our company, clients, staff and their families. Oddly enough, client participation looks to be increasing under these circumstances.

As far as Residential Services, we are taking as many precautions as available to ensure the safety of our current clients, while having availability for the existing community in these trying times. Any new admissions are being vetted more thoroughly than in the past, as we have always taken precaution to ensure any admissions are medically appropriate for our treatment settings. Screenings are conducted as per CDC guidelines for the current COVID-19 Pandemic and residential healthcare settings.

Please stay safe, stay home if you can, go out only when you must, wash your hands, and take any and all precautions not to add to the community spread in your areas. Remember to get your news and information from reputable sources, such as the Centers for Disease Control, Galveston County Health District, and local government officials on news for your area.

William Smith

LCDC, SAP, ADC, Admissions Director

William, better known as Billy around here is head of our admissions team. If you inquire about any of our treatment services, you will most likely speak with Billy in some capacity. Billy is one of the most passionate people when it comes down to recovery. You don’t have to have a long conversation to understand how much he cares about helping others. A recovered addict himself, he knows how miserable it is for those and their families who suffer from alcohol and drug addiction. He has been a part of Bay Area Recovery Center since 2008.
